”A Colonial Christmas” and Wreaths Across America

Chapter member Suzanne Telesky will do a short program on how the holiday was celebrated in the 1700s.

Members are welcome to wear their Colonial-era clothing.

Members will carpool to St. Patrick’s Cemetery on Route 5 in Enfield, Connecticut to attend the Third Annual Wreaths Across America Ceremony, which begins promptly at 12:00 p.m. Noon.

This is a very special ceremony to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach our children the value of freedom. The ceremony will involve the placement of seven ceremonial wreaths near the Veterans’ Memorial Markers in the cemetery. Each wreath represents a branch of military service--the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine and POW/MIA service men and women.

We encourage the public to attend this very moving ceremony.

The public is welcome to purchase individual wreaths for their loved ones who served our country. After the ceremony, they may place these wreaths on local graves.

The deadline for ordering the wreaths is December 1, 2010. Wreaths may be ordered from the Wreaths Across America organization for $15 each:

online at:
www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/become-a-sponsor.html

or
by phone at:

Be sure to provide the group number so that your wreath(s) will be delivered to the group leader for St. Patrick’s Cemetery for you to pick up immediately after the ceremony.

WATCH FOR MORE SPECIFIC INFORMATION, WHICH WILL BE ADDED AS SOON AS IT IS AVAILABLE.
