How To Become A Member
Any woman who is at least 18 years of age and who is able to prove her lineage back to an ancestor who served the American cause during the American Revolution is eligible for membership.
We traditionally think of military service when we think of the American Revolution, but there are many other types of acceptable service, including signers of the Declaration of Independence, members of the Boston Tea Party, doctors and nurses giving aid to the wounded, prisoners of war, civil service, signers of Oaths of Fidelity and Support and Oaths of Allegiance, those who rendered material aid (such as furnishing supplies or lending money to the Colonies), munitions makers, gunsmiths, and many, many more.
Women have also been recognized as Patriots for their service.
If you would like to know if your ancestor is already a recognized Patriot, you may contact us for a Patriot Lookup.
If your ancestor is not a recognized Patriot, it does not necessarily mean that he did not contribute to the cause. It may only mean that no one has submitted proof of his service yet.
